Through a pandemic and a transition to learning and collaborating remotely, 18 talented developers are ready to make positive change.

Our first group of remote students graduated online today. They started with us in person, but as the world changed and a pandemic set in, they quickly moved to complete their journey with us online. Learning immersively they produced some of the best projects we’ve seen working collaboratively in group sprints from their homes. They are so talented. Please check out their final presentations here. (developers, deployed site, github, and video presentations). One group learned D3 and did incredible data visualization on how people’s travel habits have changed globally due to COVID 19. In a week!
This cohort group not only did something hard by changing careers, they also ended up having to do it as the world shifted. Some even went the extra mile by building apps on the side to help with community covid response, and are already working in tech. Their passion for this is beautiful, and they’ve truly found their calling by learning to code. The personal growth, sense of community, and bonds they’ve created has been incredible to watch. We’re truly honored to have gotten to know each and every one of them.
This group of very talented developers encompass entrepreneurs and servers, hair stylists and community managers. There’s women who have created great teams in big companies, been published, and have even challenged US Policy on environmental issues in DC. One also moved here from Puerto Rico because of hurricane devastation and has learned not only to code over the last couple years, but also to speak English.
We know they will make a difference in the world, and we are so proud of their determination to get this far.
Congrats, grads! You did it!
