UPDATE: Alchemy is now running all classes through live, real-time, remote instruction.

Last week, we launched hybrid in-person and remote instruction in quick response to COVID-19. As the reality of the pandemic has become clearer and the guidance has become even stronger to maintain social distancing and other measures, we are now moving to a full-time remote model. In addition to being proactive about protecting the health of our community, we know that gaining remote skills will be valuable as many tech companies are employing frequent and even full-time remote workers.

Alchemy’s remote curriculum will follow the same schedule and expectations as the current in-person format. We are extending Alchemy's Program online -- the quality of the curriculum, interacting in real-time with your experienced instructors, and having instructional staff and peers available in real-time during lab time -- these things aren't changing. This is very different than an online learning website with limited human interaction and no access to help when you need it.

Alchemy will use software including Slack and Zoom to facilitate sessions, help you with setup, and provide solutions if you’re in need of hardware like headphones and mics.

The health and wellbeing of our students and staff is top priority. The urgency of the coronavirus pandemic gives us an opportunity to further prepare our students for the realities of tech employment, which requires flexibility and rapid adaptation. The ability to perform work remotely and effectively is crucial to today’s tech jobs. Remote work can also be conducive to financial security, community health, and personal safety.

We appreciate everyone’s support as we adapt quickly in these changing times. We believe we can both keep you and yours safe and continue to deliver the quality technical education for which Alchemy is known.
